cyber bullying takes place using electronics such as phones, computers, and or tablets. the sites could include social media or email, or through text messages. kids who are cyberbullied are usually bullied in person as well, people who are cyberbullied may also have a hard time getting away from certain behaviors. it happens all day everyday, it could happen to anyone. a picture can be posted on social media and it can be very difficult to remove once it is up there, and it is almost impossible to track the source once it 's in motion. social media is not to be blamed for cyber bullying as it can be used for good as well. but sometimes with certain people it can be used to harm others. people who are cyberbullied are more likely to use alcohol …show more content…
tell them not to post things that can lead to more bullying, such as embarrassing photos that could hurt them. ask them who they want to see the post, only friends? complete strangers? think about how people who aren 't friends could use it. when getting your child to talk about cyberbullying, encourage them to talk to a trusted adult or friend, they can give comfort, advice, and support. when telling them to stand up to bullies, give tips like using humor or straight up saying stop, or no. talk about what to do if those actions don 't work, like walking away. talk about ways to stay safe, like staying near adults or in crowds. spending fifteen minutes a day talking can reassure your child that they can talk to you if they have a problem. you can ask question such as; what was one good thing that happened today? any bad things? what is lunch time like at your school? who do you sit with? what do you talk about? what is it like to ride the bus? what are you good at? what do you like best about yourself? these question may be irritating for your child to answer but can establish trust and get them to open up more to …show more content…
it 's important to understand the steps to take if your child is being bullied and to be there for them in this trial in their life. it can be very damaging to them if their parent or parents are not supportive on this. if they feel like they are alone in this they make do things that they regret in the future, and damaging to their self esteem. it 's important to never tell your child that they are seeking attention if they do things that are damaging to them or others around them, it can cause them to feel insecure about themselves. if your child confides in you it means they need support in this time of trial in their life and trust you to make it
