A thing I learned about Kelsey is that she hates chemistry, and that was the main problem she faced. Struggling through general chemistry 1 and 2, and currently taking organic chemistry, it has taken a toll on her. What she does not like about the program (giving her the reason to switch from a BS to a BA) is that she had to take classes that she did not need for grad school but needed it to complete her BS degree here at Sage which included physics 1 and 2. Next, I asked her what resources helped her with the challenges of transition, as well as the ones within the classroom. She said she uses the free stuff that the learning center has to offer (tutors and library rooms), as well as learning how to manage stress and time because “once you start freaking out it goes downhill”. To my surprise, what helped her the most were the workshops needed for seminar that I’m currently doing. I came to the realization that the stuff I think is bother some right now will help me further down the line. I asked her about the stuff she wished she knew as a first year and things that she tells her little about college. She tells her little and wished she knew not to limit herself and don’t be closed minded. She felt very limited to what she could do in the medical field, and wished that someone was there to explore other options, which she is
