What is RNA? Well for starters the initials RNA stand for Ribonucleic Acid. “It is a molecule with long chains of nucleotides. It is one of three major macromolecules. The discovery of RNA began with the discovery of nucleic acids by Friedrich Miescher in 1868 ' since it was found in the nucleus” (Yarus 9) There are multiple different types of RNA. The three different type are (mRNA), (tRNA) and (rRNA). Each type of RNA plays its own role. They all do different jobs that are important to the transfer of genetic code and the creation of protein. The different types of RNA all go through different phases to create protein in the body. Each phase or type of RNA contributes to the next allowing the process to be continued seemingly easy.
