Despite the method many countries attempt to decontaminate their water supply there is one main goal that is kept in mind. To protect the water supply from fecal contamination and to sufficiently isolate it from dumping of household garbage, industrial waste, mining and quarrying activities, and agricultural runoffs of fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides (Gadgil 1998 p.1). “The Millennium Development Goals aims at halving by 2015 the proportion of people without sustainable access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation (World Health Organization 2010 pg.1)”. …show more content…
