Early childhood program is a curriculum intended for children from birth to twelve years of age. It supports the view of a good quality early childhood system that supports each child’s progress in all areas of development. This program is supported by both federal and the provincial agencies in order to improve the health and well-being of our young children and to help the families mold their children with a good foundation for life.

The federal government of Canada plays a vital role in giving high-quality childcare by providing supports not only to the families that receives allocations monthly but also to the childcare services. Government believes that early education is highly significant for the young children to gain a strong foundation which they can use later in life. On the other hand, early childcare responsibilities are to ensure that the children are healthy and secure. These includes the proper care, support they need, promoting or helping them develop socially, physically, intellectually, creativity and emotionally.
The national policy for children and families are set to help the families and promoting excellent growth of children, lowering poverty by encouraging parents for work provided that the government issues funds to childcare services. Even though, province of Quebec agrees to the general principles of early childhood program, the province did not participate. One of the issues is that, there’s not enough monitoring in the daycare. Once every five years is not truly enough for licensed daycare, many public daycare that are not following the regulations set by the government particularly in providing them a well prepared lesson plan that are appropriate for their age or level of learning. Another issues to look for is the nutrition. Sometimes, the meals of the children do not meet in the Canada nutrition standard. All daycare public and private posted their meals for the whole month on the entrance to let the parents know what are their children are having for lunch and snacks, however most of the time, daycare services do not follow. One more to know is the cleanliness of the daycare. The entrance might be clean to look at but the inside is not, floors are not wash, toys are not disinfected and the bathroom is not properly
