Walter White is one of the main characters in the TV series Breaking Bad. In the first season, the character of Walter White undergoes a tremendous transformation. In general, the first season is about discovering how close Walter White can get to “Breaking Bad”. This growth and development of his character are critical because the life he embarks on is one that demands that he adapts to new traits to prosper and most importantly, to survive. For example, for the transformed from a poor chemistry teacher to Heisenberg, a legend making the best finest crystal meth to take place, Walter has to become a new man. The transformation starts when Walter learns of his terminal cancer and embarks on a journey to secure the economic future of his family …show more content…
When Walter White started his journey to the drug world by cooking meth, he wanted to save some money for his family. His motivation was pure if not altogether noble. When he was chemistry teacher, he did not have expanded ambitions because he could count on his health. However, when he is diagnosed with cancer, he is deeply shaken. First, he realizes that without him, his family will be financially ruined. His wife does not have a good job that can afford his family a decent life, especially considering that his son is physically challenged and there is a possibility that he might have to depend on the parents for a longer duration than a normal child would. The kids of his age supplement their parents’ allowances with part time jobs. Walter Junior might have to wholly depend on his parents. It therefore a concern for Walter that his wife will be left to attend to these financial needs …show more content…
