Hence, many people turn to consume skin whitening products, such as creams or even bleach serum to attain lighter skin. The fact shows that skin-whitening creams are incredibly popular in Asia, the Middle East and Africa. In India, sales of skin-whitening cream were 258 tons in 2012, and the global market of skin whitening products is predicted to be around 19.8 billion dollars by 2018 (Thompson, 2014).
