The Importance Of My True Colors

Decent Essays
My true color turned out to be orange. Orange is energy. Overall it means that if your color is orange, you promote excitement, motivation, and action. You also seize the moment at all times and I am quick at making decisions which is very true when it comes to me. That was not the result I was expecting but then I actually thought of it and I think orange is actually my color. I am always motivated to do my work (school work and anything I have to do at my job). I usually don 't think much about a specific problem and I make quick decisions instead. I am always excited for new and old things. I take advantage of every opportunity I have (in my social life and at school). I am mostly energetic and in the moment so yes, my color is orange. Some of the recommended occupations had to do with law enforcement and art. I do agree that I am an energetic and in the moment kind of person but I am definitely a science person and I want to be a physician. So I do not completely agree or disagree with the True Colors Assessment. According to Eureka, my top five values are belonging, family, health, …show more content…
I am not sure why I chose persuading but everyone says I am very persuasive so I thought I could actually use that skill in a job and benefit from it instead of getting criticized. I do agree with the results and they are accurate because I was the one who chose these five skills. The two top recommended occupations were safety inspectors and psychiatrist. I am not completely happy with the recommended occupations but I have thought of becoming a psychiatrist before so maybe they are not so wrong. Honestly, the reason I chose these five skills is because I thought that’s what a physician in the Emergency Room would need (well except persuading) so yeah I guess my personality does not exactly want me to be a

In my analysis I will focus on the work of Julian Kulski in the book The Color of Courage. Kulski explains life as a ten year-old Boy Scout during World War II who so desperately wanted to fight against the Germans after they invaded his country of Poland. The purpose of this book is to give readers an inside look of what it was like to live during the war. The book is composed of many diary excerpts and actual pictures at the age of sixteen to help aid his post-traumatic stress. This book was written to describe the conditions and everything Kulski experienced in Warsaw.…

Identity is like a deciduous tree that goes through all the seasons; it is ever changing. As individuals, we grow and we tend to adapt depending on the circumstances, along with the environment that surrounds us. But, like trees, we also manage to wither, especially when occasional obstacles come our way. We are infinitely being shaped and molded as individuals, as we stroll through the road of life. In Amy Tan 's essay, "Mother Tongue" and Zora Neale Hurston 's piece, "How It Feels to Be Colored Me" the authors explores the concept of identity and how their own identities are formed by the embrace of their personal life experiences.…

An Analysis of “How It Feels to Be Colored Me” Hurston’s audience is not explicitly specified but she seems to be talking to society in general. She arranges her essay in a way where the true purpose of her argument is not stated to the reader until she’s almost done with what she has to say. Her main argument is that skin color is just skin color and that on the inside, people are all the same. She alludes to it throughout her speech and gives many examples that serve to support what she will say eventually. She begins her essay with a fairly light-hearted tone and gives an example to the “very day” she became “colored” (Hurston).…

The Rope dropped the gray team rushed the baseball field surrounding the burner he was a legend he had defied all expectations.…

weeks is hardly enough time to do so. This is not I trying to distant myself from my race; it is me deeply considering what is being taught. With regard to my white identity, it does not appear to address the impact on a white person that grew up in a diverse neighborhood, “given the close association between whiteness and socioeconomic privilege, poor and working-class whites are especially likely to be aware of their whiteness and to have a complex understanding of what it means to be white in the USA (Samson, 2005).” When I learned about slavery, I had many black people living around me, this impacted me on a personal level as I made a very real connection to my neighbors and friends. We learned about Jim Crow Laws and the Civil Rights movements and a picture of black people having a fire hose sprayed on them is an image that is still stuck in my head.…
