Westworld Trailer Analysis

The Westworld trailer, in my opinion, is one of the most interesting trailers I’ve seen recently. It plays a lot with your emotions and brings the feeling of excitement and mystery to the table. It tells you very little about the plot of the show like most trailers do, so that you will find an interest and see the show for yourself. All of this trailer though leads to messing with your emotions, it wants you to feel something towards the characters and pull you in to show within the two-minute trailer. The trailer overall is going for a pathos approach and leaves you with lots of questions unanswered so you’ll seek out the answer when you watch the show. The trailer starts off with some dramatic music to set the mood and add to the emotional …show more content…
She says she 's dreaming and she is shown in a very dark, almost scary place, probably somewhere she doesn’t want to be. The man talking to the women tells her she’s in his dream. The way it is made it makes it look as if the man could be somewhat evil, maybe he has her trapped. It then cuts to a clip that shows a table with a hologram of what looks to be a piece of land you would find in old western movies. The man claims that he has designed every part of this place making the viewer believe that he might have trapped her in this world he created. The viewer at this point probably feels bad for the women because she seems to be fairly confused about the situation. The man says what he has created is an entire world so it makes me think he might have more people or robots trapped in this world. One of the characters from before show up again talking to this woman and he tells her she was built to gratify the people needs who come and visit her world. She is seen as a toy for the real people who visit her and she is confirmed to be some sort of being created by humans. It kind of leaves the viewer questioning if what these people are doing is completely humane or if they are running some terrible business that isn’t

Waleed Aly "ISIL is Weak" text response Purpose Waleed Aly's speech "ISIL is Weak" on The Project was broadcast shortly after the Paris terrorist attack in 2015. Although his speech had multiple purposes and reasons it was aired, the main purpose was very clear; to let the public know that ISIL is weak and struggling for power. Aly emphasizes throughout the speech the fact that ISIL are trying to create a society of islamophobes, making ISIL the only place for Muslims to turn. To emphasize this Aly utilises inclusive and inclusive language, such as 'we' or 'they' to create a barrier between us (the public) and them (ISIL).…

I really liked the movie Defiance. Tuvia Bielski was a very brave leader. He was able to lead not only his brothers, but 1200 other Jews to safety before the end of the war. I found it amazing that in the movie he just happened upon many of the Jews he helped. In all of the accounts I read on him, he was more organized and willing to go out of his way to get the Jews.…

Throughout Hollywood’s years they have come up with several war films, some of them very good and some of them very bad. What makes them good and bad depends on the group or individual watching it. Some people like to watch to see how we have evolved as a country and others look to see people die. Though some Hollywood producers provide an accurate depiction of war in an unbiased manner, several glorify war to the extent of romanticizing what should be a serious topic.…

There comes a moment in many of our lives when we need to stand up for who we are. In the movie “Wonder” by Stephen Chbosky, the main character Auggie struggles fitting in with others because of the way he looks. Auggie's parents believe enrolling him in school will help him make new friends and learn how to show the world he can do anything with the right mindset. Throughout the beginning of the trailer Auggie struggles with these things but as time goes on he shows his schoolmates and parents that he is this great kid that can do whatever he strives to achieve. The trailer for the upcoming film Wonder is effective in grabbing a viewer's interest by the way it uses color to establish the feelings of the main character and the environment around…
