Persuasive Essay: Why We Should Go Green

Superior Essays
Introduction: Nearly just about any and everything can be recycled these days such as paper, plastic, glass, etc. I believe we should go green by having a program for the recycle, just to make sure everything goes to the right place. One of the things we can do in our building (Global Solutions) we can place bins in the appropriate place with each bin having a label on them.
Background: This program would be effective only if everyone is on board in the beginning phase. It’s very important to recycle and we can reduce our carbon footprint by much less just by doing this alone. I believe it’s a good idea and also good for the environment. We also can reduce operating cost as a result of saving money. E227 Global Solutions and the entire company

Solution and Benefits:
One solution would be to have all the right bins labeled Red for ink cartridges, computers, and electronics. Another bin will be labeled Blue for Paper, Orange for Glass and White for Plastic or Styrofoam. These bins should be front and center in the hallways, break rooms, boardrooms, and copy rooms and also near printers.

• Helps sustain the environment for future generations
• Helps create new well-paying jobs in the recycling and manufacturing industries in the United States

Waste disposal and recycling A growing alternative to such disposal is recycling. Industry has found that when it undertakes serious recycling programs, the savings can sometimes be considerable. In addition to reducing manufacturing and materials costs, such programs can insulate the companies from liability for environmental violations (p.2, Recycling. (2016) (Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia, 6th Edition)
Conclusion: I conclude that becoming a greener practice is the transitioning from "nice to have" to "must-have". It 's an opportunity since there is an unmet demand for sustainable products, and more than eight of every 10 in the U.S. population can be classified as an eco-conscious consumer seeking products and businesses committed to sustainability. It creates an environment that makes all in the office proud of where they work. Become a green practice and see your business bloom. Problem In the very large community of Pecan Plantation we have garbage trucks that come by every tuesday morning. For a gated community the size of granbury’s population every family brings a lot of trash to the curb every tuesday. Throught granbury there are many places that residents can take their recycling to in order to dispose of it properly. But just next door in Pecan there is only a single recycling bin placed right in the middle of the community on a road that not many travel. This has become a growing problem in Pecan Plantation due to the growing size of the population every year.…

Biodegradable waste like yard waste can be collected in a large land field and decomposed using modern facilities and used to manufacture compost which can be sold to farmers for planting. This implies that biodegradable waste can be recycled for other uses unlike non-biodegradable waste like plastics. On this note, Bill Nye advocates for the use of more biodegradable products and recycling of non-biodegradable waste so that the environment is saved from pollution. The non-biodegradable wastes liked papers and plastic bottles can be done away with by reducing, reusing and recycling them as the video states. The non-biodegradable should be dumped in a central place like bins in cities where they are collected in huge garbage trucks which transport them to recycling facilities.…

As Chief Executive Officer of AutoZone, realizing how important environmental responsibility is to consumers, I would strategize ways to decrease AutoZone’s carbon footprint to become a greener or more eco-friendly company. Research suggests that a socially responsible corporation has a competitive advantage (Bolis, Brunoro, and Sznelwar, 2014). I would begin finding ways to reduce or eliminate waste, including but not limited to using recyclable packaging for all parts delivered to the stores from distribution hubs. I would work with suppliers to ensure they begin sending these parts to our distribution hubs in recyclable packaging. I would also work closely with the suppliers to reduce their carbon footprint in the production of the parts…

“Recycling aluminum cans, for […] saves […] 96% of the energy needed to produce aluminum from bauxite”(Humes 260). In order to reverse our slothful minds, it is essential to think bigger picture. It is most certainly true that changing our wastefulness at first may be a challenge. At times it may seem like we are going out of our way. I like to compare it to eating organically, some may say organic groceries are far too expensive; though this may be true, it is worth it because it’s a life investment.…

While most of the environmental friendly initiatives require a larger initial investment, most of these initiatives will help lower the companies’ overall costs in the long run. Having an environmentally friendly company is a very attractive feature to consumers. With the socio-cultural environment today, being very geared towards “saving the environment”, consumers are very drawn to any company that is environmentally friendly. New Belgium keeps confirming this with their multimillion dollars in sales per year, and becoming the third largest brewery in the United…

It has come to my concern and attention that recycling should be mandatory in ISA. Americans make more than 200 million tons of garbage each year due to the garbage outburst that is not recycled. I personally believe that recycling should be mandatory in ISA because the EPA system averages out that 75% of the American waste stream of garbage is only 30% recycled which isn’t even half of it. Therefore ISA should go green and have recycle bins which then the recycled items will be processed to a recycling company. One of the reasons recycling should be mandatory is because it will protect wildlife from decreasing the risk of killing an animal from lake to sea, or from forest to rivers.…

In order to preserve natural resources it is important that consumers require major industries to reduce their carbon and water footprint. A company’s positive reputation both with consumers and investors will translate into increased sales and higher corporate value. Companies should also be federally mandated to allocate unused resources of food for social benefit. Unused or unsold products should be donated to homeless shelters or other non-profit organizations. Companies will not only benefit from a tax deduction but also from the increase in public…

Our society has the huge problem of not taking advantage and not benefitting from the dumps wasting with a great valuable deal of them. Lars Eighner makes me reconsider my wasting behavior and makes me think about how much we are losing useful dumps. We consume the dumps as waste instead of recycling them and making benefit of it. In addition, a lot of money could be saved through recycling. For example, factories could save a huge amount of money on manufacturing papers, toilet rolls, and cans by recycling them again and again.…
