Register to read the introduction… In order to make it clear how they spend their time, how long they have to achieve their goals and the best way to use their time. In order to do this, a student could start by recording what they are doing for a week or two. When examining the results of this, they should examine whether they did everything that was needed, determine which tasks required the most time, determine the time of day when they are most productive and analyze where most of their time is spent. By identifying their most time-consuming tasks, students are then able to determine whether they are investing their time in the most important activities to meet their goals. In addition, having a good feel of how much time required for routine tasks is helpful in planning and estimating how much time is available for other activities (Chapman, Sue.W . may …show more content…
The knowledge of business students becomes more important with offers of internship opportunities within curriculum to provide business students with actual work experience in particular business license/certification areas. It is one thing to have knowledge and quite another to have both knowledge and experience in particular skill sets desired by corporations. Students could receive credit hours and could receive compensation from the employing organization (David, Dr. Fred R. and David, Forest R. 2010).

The importance of the study of time management has been recognized in many schools, due to a need to simultaneously meet the needs of both students and the business community. Matching the teaching of time management within courses with the specific skill areas needed in business would help to reduce disparity between academic focus and corporate needs. (David, Dr. Fred R. and David, Forest R. 2010).
For example, that can happen if business students have the chance while they are studying. That helps them to link and apply what they learn to their work

Self-management can be defined as “efforts by an individual to control his or her own behavior” (Mills, 1983 cited in Gerhardt, 2007). Having a good plan, with reinforcement and punishment being used to regulate goal progress and time management is an important part of this. Time management “involves assessing problems, establishing goals, monitoring time and environmental issues that may hinder the accomplishment of those goals” (Gerhardt, Dr. Megan. 2007). By being required “to evaluate, monitor, and regulate themselves, students can become responsible and accountable for their own progress and performance and essentially become good at self-management” (Gerhardt, Dr. Megan. 2007). Researchers have found that a significant proportion of participants in self-management training programs reach their desired goals after the training, which may be due to the fact that these programs increase the amount of time that students spend studying, leading to positive results (Gerhardt, Dr. Megan.
