Multiple Stressors In My Life

There are multiple stressors in my life. There are stressors in my life ranging from the mountain of school work teachers give me to my self-esteem. The biggest stressors in my life include the following: my sleep habits, workload, school, and self-esteem. For the most part, my stressors fall under the intrapersonal category. Except, there are a few that don’t. School and workload fall under academic and interpersonal. I do believe that all of these do affect one another. As soon as I get a heavy workload that leads to my sleep schedule altering from its usual state. As soon as my sleep goes down my academics seem less important. This then leads to a lot of procrastination and mediocre school work.
When I am stressed out I try to go with a problem- focused coping mechanism, but then I usually resort to emotion- focused coping. When it comes to school and a heavy workload I always try to face it head on and get it over with. By doing this I am using a problem- focused coping mechanism. This strategy is usually a problem- focused coping strategy. For example: a certain school week this year i felt so overwhelmed with school work that I didn’t take the time to eat or get the adequate amount of sleep. I knew right away I needed to find a coping strategy for this workload stress, so then I laid out my options. I could keep skipping lunch and give myself time to play on my phone at night, or I could start eating right and put the phone away at night. The second option was more practical and would be more effective. Once the stress of school started piling on it was too much to take. I knew I needed to talk to someone about this stress and all the things bothering me. In the end I took the problem- focused coping route and decided to talk to a counselor outside of school about
