Some people are very scared by that fact. Television can expose children to situations that they should definitely not view at young ages. Everywhere you look on television there is a sex scene or a love scene. Many parents are very worried that their children should not be viewing this material, and at this point there are not many good ways to keep them from watching it. Television now uses a rating system for all of its shows, but that is ignored by a good percent of the population. Television also takes all people away from reading and other activities that could be done in place of the 5 hours that is spent in front of the television every afternoon and night. The majority of Americans can be seen as lazy or indolent because they do not go to the gym or throw a football because of the dependency of television. People don’t value other people or even objects very well. Very often, teenagers, children, and even adults impersonate acts on television. In many cases these acts are violent, and cause people serious harm. The value of human life is even taken for granted now because there is so much killing and death that is seen everyday on television. It takes a terrorist attack that kills 2,543 people to faze citizens now because we are so desensitized to

Would we all act the same way towards each other if television were not around? Most people would probably act the exact same way towards friends, family, and even enemies if television had not been invented. Since television has been in use, people often view their own lives as drab and dull. Then again some people are very happy that their lives are nothing like the ones seen on television. Television is fast-paced, exciting, and very often a little overboard. A large drawback of television is that many people, women and men, perceive themselves as less of a person. Often, one is not as beautiful or as handsome as a person seen on television. Or one is not as smart, or as good at sports as people on
