Seven Deadly Sins: The Tragedy Of Kanye West

Brilliant Essays
Register to read the introduction… Everyone should have some pride, but too much of it can lead to many terrible things. Kanye West is one of those people whom pride has taken over. West seems to be in the media a lot lately for many actions, and pride is what those actions boil down to. The latest of the “never-ending drama of Kanye West” is West saying he is not performing on “The Today Show” on November 26 because he thinks Matt Lauer, a journalist at “The Today Show,” set him up during their recent interview. During the interview Lauer played some clips of recent incidents that West was involved in. At some point, while showing one of the clips West asks how he was supposed to talk if this clip is being played, and he also said it was “ridiculous” (“Kanye West says he won't perform on 'Today' Show”). Lauer asked the workers to turn down the volume of the clip, but West was still not pleased. Lauer later addressed that West overreacted because, “when a guest is talking about an incident or a location, we run video of that” (“Kanye West says he won't perform on 'Today' Show”). In my opinion, West should still perform on “The Today Show,” but his pride is without a doubt clouding his better judgment (“Kanye West says he won't perform on 'Today' Show”). The experience of finding the Seven Deadly Sins was quite enjoyable. It opened my eyes to all of the wrongdoing in our society. Normally when I watch television or get on the Internet I do not notice the sins that are being committed by so many people. However, this assignment showed me that sins are everywhere, all one has to do is open his or her eyes. It is sad to think that sins are broken so often that we do not ever think twice about them. This experience has definitely shown me the evils of our …show more content…

White America Many politicians assumed that Marshall Mathers II or as many may know as Eminem was the reason many young adults were being influenced in a way that created them into a troubled group. Although these politicians may have a point, they weren’t too concerned with this issue until Eminem started gaining momentum in the African-American exclusive hip hop genre. Eminem’s sudden rise in popularity started attracting young white people to the genre and felt the power of his controversial explicit lyrics. This caught the attention of the Federal Communications Commission or the FCC, the regulators of interstate communications by radio, television, wire, satellite, and cable in all 50 states. The FCC started issuing threatening letters…
