The religion, is the Yoruba religion and the story said that Olofin, the creator of the universe, creates life but he forgot to create death. People where living and populating the planet but nobody was dying. Humans were living hundreds of years and Olofin saw that the majority of the people were unhappy. The reason for this unhappiness was that the older people were still ruling and everybody else had to fallow their old rules. The younger people was sad and their sadness was so big that Olofin became aware of it. He saw that the world was not as perfect as he has planned so he called Iku to help him solve the problem. Iku fallowing Olofin’s commands made the clouds start raining and it was raining for thirty days and thirty nights. Only the young was able to climb the higher trees and go to the higher mountains and the old perished during the flood. After that the young people saw that the world was more clean and beautiful and they all ran to thank Iku, because he had finished immortality. I’m not a religious person but, there is a very wise massage behind this story. Eternal life is appealing idea for a lot of people, but quality of life is a better gold to strive for. It is better to live sixty good years than a hundred miserable
