Technology: Past vs. Modern
The earliest humans created technology in order to help them solve for their needs, they used stones, woods and other materials to manufacture the simplest and most original tools. After that, the younger generation used ancestral experiences and wisdom to continuous improvement and innovation technology in every period. That’s why we have today’s high-technology. Technology is developing faster and faster in each year, however, that’s resulting in people losing initial’s purpose. Now, technology not only use to solve people’s need, but also to satisfy their wants. Is the technological advancements good more than harm or harm more than good?

The first developed handheld mobile phone was Motorola 's Dr. Martin Cooper, the father of cell phone. And he was also the first person made the cell phone call to public in 1973. Released in 1984, the Motorola DynaTAC 8000X was the first commercially available mobile phone. At 1.75 pounds, this phone had 30 minutes of talk time and cost a not-so-modest $3,995. (Zigterman) At that time, only richer people can buy one. Nowadays, mobile phone has become one of the indispensable electronic equipment in human life. In 2004, a survey showed that 45% of teens had a cell phone. Since that time, mobile phone use has climbed steadily among teens ages 12 to 17 – to 63% in fall of 2006 and then to 71% in early 2008. Everyone has a different point of view to look at the development of technology, may be positive or negative. Of course, we can’t deny with high-technology, we can speed up the efficiency of rescue after the earthquake; we can understand the situation around the world by watching TV, Newspapers or computers; and we can communicate the people who live at the other side of world. However, we also can’t deny because of human over exploitation that cause the earthquake; people over-reliance on technology that cause diseases increase; and environmental pollution is the biggest harm. As if you get some things, but also lose somethings else at the same
