“At a price?” Steven said. “What price?” Tabitha asked. “Sure, no arguing, your test results are strong, and to-date I haven’t found anything to suggest you’re cheating, but there’s other data from your school that I wouldn’t be so proud of. Over the past five years, nearly forty percent of your faculty has turned over, and thirty percent of your students have returned to public schools in their sending districts,” Steven said. “Explain that.” “Freedom comes with a price. Everyone knows the expectations from the day we sign our contracts. Teachers and students are given every opportunity to thrive. If they fail to thrive, they know the consequences. Education and employment is not a right at Beacon Academy - it’s an opportunity,” Jason said. …show more content…
“In schools you ran, I bet you had a small army of non-teaching staff, and the school was still a shithole. How much did you pay all those secretaries, custodians, maintenance people, security guards, administrators, counselors, psychologists, social workers, special education teachers, paraprofessionals? And what did they give you? A shithole. So, yes, we’re very well compensated, but that’s because we use our funds wisely. We don’t pay for all those useless positions. We are rewarded for our efforts in the classroom, and contributions to the community. In the end, our operating budget is significantly lower than any public high school in the state. In short, we cost taxpayers less, and produce superior results. We do it because we take ownership of our school, and we rely on no one but ourselves.” “I’ve heard enough of this nonsense. I’m not buying it. You’re hiding something, and I intend to get to get to the bottom of it,” Steven said, snapping his laptop shut and standing from the table. “You’re welcome back anytime,” Jason said. “I can assure you we have nothing to hide. Come on; let’s go get you that bag of fresh ground

In Kandice Sumner’s Ted Talk, “How America’s Public Schools Keep Kids in Poverty”, she composes a well-constructed argument, concerning the issue of improperly and unequally distributed funding and resources to schools. Specifically, schools that are in low income and increased “colored” areas. Although I agree with her point of view that there should be a more structured and equally supplied school budget with necessary resources, I do not believe that the inequality is targeted to students of color and poverty –stricken areas. Growing up in a lower-economic and social class area, Ms. Sumner has the experience to speak for her community in saying that, “Because of this lack of wealth, we lived in a neighborhood that lacked wealth, and henceforth…

Would you be angry if you lost millions of dollars every year because people don’t pay their taxes? Well that’s how the government feels about illegal immigrants when they cross the U.S. and Mexico border. Illegal immigrants are crossing the border and are getting jobs in the United States, without any documents. American citizens are paying more taxes and that money goes to places like churches and charities that are protecting illegal immigrants so they can stay and get some money. A wall across the U.S. and Mexico border will protect American jobs and reduce crime because, jobs are being taken, illegal immigrants are not paying taxes on their jobs, and many criminals will not be able to smuggle items across the border.…

Citizens, countrymen, folk of the land, the United States of America has created the strongest people the world has ever seen, second to none in all aspects of daily living. America has become the shiny beacon of light across the infinite black sea of ignorance. As a fellow countrymen I hear nay-Sayers speak of my own in only the highest of jests, in which we are cowards, they insult, without knowledge of remembering first the world policing policies America stands by! And to this I say, let’s make them right. It’s only fair, for America has been the super power in which all other nations stand up against and conform to, all others must bend to our whim and do as is told.…

Teachers Are Underpaid In the United States, educators are valued for being more than just a teacher by society. Educators not only nurture and enrich student’s minds, but they are also preparing them for the future. They are the stepping stones to the student’s pathway of success. K-12 teachers around the country, with the exception of the East Coast (like Rhode Island), are often overworked, overwhelmed, and usually underpaid; this is due to the lack of funding, and because of the time and dedication that is required to succeed in their profession.…
