Both of these jobs deal with infants in the intensive care unit section (NICU). They take care of these infants for a long period of time, whether they are born early, have problems when they are born, or they are born prematurely. All of these infants are put into incubators to continuously heal their bodies, and to make sure they are healthy and stay healthy.
Neonatal and neonatal nurse practitioners are the nurses that provide care for these young infants and work together to perform the job that they do. Both of these roles in the neonatal field of nursing are growing outstandingly more and more every day. The demand for both of these duties has increased, but more and more nurses are needed for these jobs. Both of these jobs are good careers to look into because of the outlook on future preferences. Neonatal nurses are told what to do by the neonatal nurse practitioners. As a nurse in this job, you work in the intensive care unit and strictly help take care of the babies, like feeding them and changing them and being their everyday mom. Neonatal nurses use different strategies and techniques with the babies such as holistic nursing or the healing touch method.
