The “Arrows” are things that ultimately affect us all in a variety of ways. No one has quite the same arrows, but some of them may indeed be similar. When we individually think about our arrows, they bring back a mix of emotions that we may not have felt for some time. We often feel fear, anxiety, or anger when we think about what the arrows are and how they affected us in our lives. The “Arrows” are situations in our lives that prevent us from becoming a better form of ourselves. The first thing that really stuck out to me was the idea of thinking (and believing) that we will never have the love we truly want (Curtis, 152). We as humans look to find someone to love us like no one has really loved (or even been capable of loving us) before.

When we do not fit in or feel like we are part of the “in crowd”, life really sucks. Our happiness is generally dependent on the intimacy that we all crave and long for. We always try to hide in ourselves the things we do not want people finding, if only to stay with the current friends we have. At the same time though, when someone remembers us, life becomes incredibly exciting. The happiness overwhelms me when someone takes the time to save me a seat at lunch, or saves me a seat in class. We often try to take control of our own romance and lead the life that we want to lead. In reality, God is the one who is the main character of our story, as our lives revolve around pleasing him in a better way day after day. Once we decide that God is the main character of our story, life becomes meaningful and worth living. God wants to see us through every easy and difficult thing that we go through during our life on earth. If we try to take control of our own lives, we can stay afloat for a while, but eventually it will catch up to us. God needs to be the center of our lives in order for us to get the most out of life. There have been two arrows in my own life that has caused me a great deal of pain over the years. Both of them came out of my teenage years in high school.
