Listening And Listening Analysis

When it comes to teaching listening and responding come as a packaged deal. Granted most teachers only like one or the other. Often times teachers will respond to what they believed you said. But then others listen and just forget to respond. It is hard to find a teacher that wants or cares enough to do both. I really think these two are the hardest skill to teach. I believe I may be lucky enough to already have them. I grew up around mostly boys. These boys are my pride and joy. I have seen some of the best and the worst times. One which I know they never wanted to start but were happy to finish. I never told them what I thought they wanted to hear; I told them what they need to hear. I would spend hours with them. But I knew sometimes they just need me to sit and listen and then tell them talk. But I never thought they would listen to me. I was wrong. That may have been the best gift they ever gave to me. After the countless hours of talking over school, grades, boys, sports, and what was to come next. I never thought to ask what happens when I left the state. I asked a million and one questions but I forgot the one I needed to ask. But I guess those boys asked the one I forgot. They just never told me the answer. I got that answer, and I loved it. My brother Anthony never knew I was coming home. But he worked his magic and somehow found out I was and told no one. He even managed to find out what games I would be. He was hiding in the bleaches of the way team (knowing where I stand for games). He ran and tackled me and it was like this instant cry. I could think I just saw the brother that missed and wanted to see; but was thinking I wouldn’t get to. I looked at him questioning what he was talking about, then he said, “you understood each of us. You never questioned doing things for us; you did what we need you to do without fail. We always took you for granted. When I stepped out on to the field and I didn’t see your face peeking out from behind a camera; I stood and thought about everything you were there for. I am sorry for never making the world’s biggest deal over you. I love you and I would not be the player I am if you had not been at my side. Now it is my turn to do the same for you.” All the guys agreed with
