Frame 1 – Good evening class of 2018, we finally made it! Soon we will be on our way to being out on our own, and I would like to share three stories from my past.
Frame 2 –Having a Great mind makes a great life
Frame 3 – Great power, great responsibility, do what you love and love what you do, and don’t look for death.
Frame 4/5: Great power, Great responsibility - The first real great power I had was getting my driver's license. It really expanded my limits in life as where I could now go and what I could go out and do on my own. It was something completely new to me and also something I looked forward to all my childhood. It opened so many new doors for me and gave me opportunities for new things. I could go out and get my first job, I could drive myself to school every day, drive to go hang out with friends after school and on weekends. Of course, there are the downsides like having to run errands for my parents or drive my sister different places, but I looked at

No one should wish to die, nor wish death upon someone else. Death for me is something I look at as scary. I value every minute, hour, and day of my life and I don’t want to die. Valuing life is something that everyone should be able to do. The fact that I am healthy and alive, I have a school I go to get an education, friends and family around me, and a roof over my head are just some of the things that I am very grateful to be alive for and how I live my daily life, looking at the positives and what I do have and not what I don’t have and wanting to not have life. Yes, some people are more privileged then others and have more things or nicer things. I cherish and am grateful for life and I hope everyone else can do the same thing. So, when someone kills themselves it is considered an act against God. However, I see fault with this since when someone is killing for a ‘good’ reason (i.e. a police officer or military personnel) they are praised. I also see fault when it is preached to have compassion for all who are suffering, yet when there is a way for someone to die at peace and with dignity it is considered taboo. So, I may believe in God and Jesus, but I believe the right to die movement is a legitimate cause that should be heard. If I was in any of the advocates situations I would want to be able to die before the illness has taken control of my…

Everyone is destined to die someday, whether it’s sooner or later than others. Even though some people die sooner than others, it was meant to be that way for a reason and vice versa. When you personally experience the death of a friend, pet, or loved one, it can be difficult to accept the fact that they’re gone. Some people who can’t cope well with death will go to drastic measures, such as taking their own life. Death, for many people, is a hard and scary idea to think about.…

From a young age, like the author, high expectations have been placed upon me, and vigorous measures were taken by my parents to ensure that the best education was available to me. Because I was expected to be a high functioning student, the vision my parents had of me allowed them to shape me into what they had envisioned. But, like the author's situation, the doors for success were opened for me, yet I had to be the one to walk through those doors. There comes a point where age and independence takes over my mind as I was less privy to the words of my parents. During this time, personal accountability is now the driving factor of success.…

Terminally ill patients are suffering every day due to the treatments they have to go through or the pain from the illness. Because of the harsh treatments that some people have to go through, they might decide to end their suffering and choose to reject the treatment. I do not believe anyone has a death wish, but the majority of people do not want to suffer for the rest of their life. People want to die at home or with loved ones as their illness begins to get out of control. I…

The word “death” holds so much meaning to every individual on this planet. It can strike fear in many, but for others it can be a release. A release from being trapped in a body that can only feel pain or that cannot feel at all. Many beg for death to never come knocking on their door, while others leave the door unlocked. Why should death be denied to those already dying, if their wish is to no longer suffer under the amount of pain they are under?…

The ability to die is inherited by all people at the moment of conception but the legal right to die is a topic most concerning in today’s politics. Andrew D. Sumner, a graduate a Penn State’s College of Medicine in 1990, proposes that individuals should not have the legal right to end their life due to terminal illness or ailment. Approximately 1.2% of American citizens die every year from some form of terminal illness(Guy, Maytal, and Theodore A. Stern 6). Many of those deaths involve excruciating pain from the illness itself and family members suffering over an hourglass that just won 't seem to run out. Denying people the right to chose when they want to pass on their own terms is simply cruel and unjust, not only to the patient, but to the loved ones of the individual.…

The “Right to Die” is this a choice or is this a choice that society should be allowed to make? The controversy over someone choosing to end their life when dealing with a terminal illness with a physician’s help is the rights of the patient and not the right of society to choose. People who are dealing with terminal illness should have a choice to die or not with their doctor’s help. In a physician-assistant suicide the doctor prescribes the medication that will end a patient’s life, but the patient has to be able to take the medication which will result in death.…
