As a society we can now reach out to people whom we couldn’t before and voice our opinions. Petitions can now be signed via online to help fight for what we believe, yet these pros do not supersede the harm that social media is causing. As ironic as this might sound being connected to social media sources has been proven to take away from relationships because most people will focus on their social media accounts more. For the most part, those who use social media tend to spend their time either video taping or photographing daily events in order to upload onto social media outlets. Many people also tend to change when they become very involved in their social media accounts; they tend to pick up and adapt to the persona they are portraying online, and that can damage their relationships. It is also common for people to isolate themselves from face to face-interpersonal relationships and instead pick up new social media friendships. These aren’t necessarily real friendships because they seldomly talk to those friends.
