Bin Laden’s father owned one of the largest construction companies in south Yemen. Bin Laden 's father hosted hundreds of pilgrims each year during Hajj, this gave Bin Laden valuable connections to crucial people. In 1981, Bin Laden earned a degree in administration from a university in Jeddah. Laden started taking trips to Afghanistan and starting learning with dominant men. In 1986, Bin Laden decided to start generating camps to train terrorists. Within two years, six camps were made in Afghanistan, which was where most of Bin Laden 's followers came out of, along with Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and Somalia. He soon had thousands of followers. As a result, Bin Laden started to develop a plan along with other members of Al Qaeda to strike on the United States. His plan carried out and succeeded.
