Pliny the elder was one of the major contributors in the older era. He wrote books on Natural History which were published centuries ago. In the first volume, pages 341 to 349 were majorly written about the way natural forces work and an in-depth description of them. Pliny the elder focused on observing nature to see how everything functioned. In the pages that were read, Pliny wrote about the floating islands, the local earth marveis, ocean tides that were higher than inland seas, lunar periods, exceptional local tides, tidal refu, lunar influence and the effects of sunlight.

His writing on the Natural History was divided into 27 books but was missing final touches. His book was based on life and the nature of things. He used many sources in the writing of the Natural History as his work was derived from other authors. The first book which was written by him was a summary of the following 36 that he had also written. The books also included his own views and opinions of how he believed some major events take place. Some of his findings were supported by facts as well and other research that resulted in the same findings as Pliny the elder.
Pliny the elder had spent his travelling time making recordings from what happens around him. In his work, he had emphasized facts that were found by other earlier authors and supported them in his books.
