League of Legends is a multiplayer online battle arena game. Players are formed on a team of five players against another team of five players. Each team has a base with a core called a Nexus and the point of the game is to destroy the enemy team 's nexus. Each player chooses a given character also known as champion to play. There are about over 100 champions to choose from and each champion has their own unique skills, ability, strengths, and weaknesses against other champions depending on their roles and how they are used. There are typically different positions on the team that players are inherently better or worse at depending on their instinctive play style. Summoner 's Rift is the main map that most players play in League of Legends. It consists of three lanes: Top, middle, and Bottom separated by the jungle area. while it isn 't strictly limited, each lane usually has a type of champion that are fitted for each lane depending on how the player use that champion. The player distribution is generally having one player goes top lane, one player goes middle, two players goes bottom. That leaves four out of five players in the game. The fifth player has the option to roam around the jungle area or stay on top lane. Players put more value in success than fun. Some people believe that this is wrong, but if you think about it, it is the reason why so many people play League of Legends. League of legend is more an investment than just a game. Players care about their ranks online against other player’s ranks. Players sometimes have a hard time waving off negativity while in playing because players would be put with random players that can cause them to lose their rank. When players frustrated at a teammate, it is sometimes a misdirected anger. It’s not about that player being unskilled and losing the game, it’s about their incapacity to communicate within themselves to allow their teammates to understand what each teammates are doing. The play style are reflections of one’s own mechanical and analytical skills. Players tend to view their team as other real life individuals and not faceless champs. If they find themselves frustrated they’ll associate it with that anonymous person. It has become more than just a game. As time progress, League of Legend has become a hobby, a social outlet, and a sport. Even though we may be divided on opposite sides of the Rift, we all share one thing in common and that is a drive to better ourselves and in that we can find mutual understanding. League of Legends as a community has grown to encompass millions of people and
