Leaving a Legacy Abraham Lincoln once said, “In the end, it 's not the years in your life that count. It 's the life in your years.” (Quotes) The quality of a person’s life can be determined by many different components. Some people define their lives on things such as wealth or materialistic items while others base theirs on the experiences they have gone through or the knowledge they have gained over time. The choices a person makes in life all eventually lead to what they are remembered for when their lives on Earth cease. Leaving behind your own personal legacy can be tied back to this quote considering it was basically saying that life is not about the length of time spent alive, but it is all about what you do in that time. …show more content…
As someone once said, students cannot expect their ways to completely change once they get to college. All of what we have done up until now has set the path for our future educational choices. Some of the goals I plan to achieve while at college are to swim for the Wilkes University Swim Team, receive a master’s degree while majoring in Biology, and become certified in Secondary Education. I include these plans along with others into my future legacy since they are still part of the unknown. I hope to be very impacting on all aspects of my college experiences along with my future employment. As each and every day passes, my legacy grows a little more adding to the greater idea of what I foresee my life to …show more content…
Social experiences have contributed towards the sentimental values that I possess along with the knowledge I have gained of self-respect, dignity, and courage. My high school athletic involvement has transformed me into a leader that is responsible, supportive, and fun. Everyone wants to leave behind a legacy; something people will remember them by. When we think of others that have passed on we often remember them for a certain quality they possessed. We also remember people for the type of person they were and what they took through life with them. Recently, I read “The Last Lecture” by author Randy Pausch. Paush has terminal cancer, and he tries to find a way to leave behind a legacy for his children and the world.…

For the remainder of the summer I will continue to attend Schoolcraft College, where I plan to complete two of the remaining courses for the nursing prerequisites requirements. Once classes end, I will begin the fall semester at Madonna University, where I intend to complete the remaining classes needed, in order to be considered into the program. Our legacy is part of ourselves that, will be left in the hearts and minds of others. Some people leave a positive and inspiring legacy while some people willingly or not, leave a negative one. Nobody wants their existence to be lost to time. And just like everyone I wants to be remembered for the love and kindness I shared that has all become too scarce in today’s world.…

Abraham Lincoln once said: “In the end, it's not the years in your life that count, it's the life in those years.” I think this quote really fits with my friend Victoria Meyer, but if she were here right now, she would be saying “That is the dumbest quote I´ve ever heard. Don´t say that at my funeral.” My favorite and funniest memory of Victoria is us and a couple other friends went driving on a four wheeler around the farm. Someone unfortunately let Victoria drive the four wheeler, and she drove straight into the mud because she sucks at driving.…

My life is brimming with numerous wonders; however, there are a few aspects concerning my life that I believe have made the biggest impacts on my personality, and me as an individual. Those aspects include my athleticism, my desire to learn, and my work ethic. I am an aspiring tennis player, and through my athleticism, I have trained and thrived for what I wanted in both my physical stature, as well as my physical capabilities on the tennis court. As a result of my physical training, I am able to endure matches that may go on for prolonged interludes of time. Additionally, I am capable of withstanding points where I am running from one precinct of the court to another, and sometimes win the point as well.…

At an early age, I didn’t understand the concept of an immigrant family and that our resources were very limited. It wasn’t until I got older, that I finally understood and recognized the struggle that my family went and still continues to go through. My realization began when I was about 11-years old and I noticed that my father not only worked for his own small gardening service, but that he also took my older brothers to work with him. I knew it was a time for serious measures because my brothers started helping my father when they were close to my age, and they continued throughout their whole school years. Everything was going normal in my family then, we rented a house that was in the name of my aunt, had enough money for the bills,…

“I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet” by Jack London. He establishes the meaning of how he would much rather live an adventurous fun life than a average dull meaningless one. I agree with this quote, I believe to live your long life out, you need to take risks and make choices you are not 100% sure on. For example, the saying YOLO, “you only live once”, is expressing how you have one life and the goal is to live it to the fullest, experiencing thrill, love, accomplishment, etc. Although some may feel that it is a cover up to be reckless and unreliable, the truth is that it is a statement that means to spend your life doing what you love.…

Just like many of my peers, I came to college in order to allow myself a better and more option-filled future to do whatever it is that I decide to set my focus on. However, to obtain the right education and experiences to enable this, goals (both short-term and long-term) must be set. My short-term goals include making A’s in all of my courses this semester, securing an internship for the summer involving animals, and acing all of my chemistry 101 tests. As for my long-term goals, I want to get accepted into veterinary school, maintain a 3.5 or higher GPR as I get my undergraduate degree, and to positively impact others lives with my work.…
