How To Build An Office Space Or Community Space?

Improved Essays
To make the decision between office space or community space, it would best to follow the rational decision-making model. These steps include stages such as allocating weights to the criteria, developing and evaluating the alternative and then choosing the best alternative. If we follow each step, we can come to a decision on whether or not go with the office space or community center. We must first identify what the problem is. The problem is that this abandoned building is causing a negative impact on the community’s reputation and look. In order to solve this, we must either choose to between converting it to an office building or a community center. Two are very viable options which can provide great gain and feedback within …show more content…
One alternative, the office space, serves to provide a great source of revenue while the other alternative, community center, serves as a great option for building a high quality of life. However, based on the information currently present, we could express availability biases by choosing the office space because it provides a more secure route than the community center. While the community center will cause more of tax payer’s money and would not be able to generate money right away or at all for the community, the office space would provide an immediate source of revenue. In choosing to build an office space, the community can generate great revenue from renting out the office space and some of the spaces can be reserved to organizations that would improve the community member’s way of life. For instance, office spaces could be rented out to doctor’s office, dental office, weight doctors, or other health professionals that could help improve the community’s quality of life. The office spaces could also be rented out to fitness retailers such as a yoga or Pilate’s …show more content…
The two-point we should be careful not to make a decision such as this is overconfidence bias and randomness error. Being over confident will prevent us from seeing the greater picture of fulfilling the goals of the community. Being overconfident in our decision will limit the openness of being able to accept other opinions and views from others. We must also be careful not to make a random error and assume that community members will use all of the services provided by the office space, and this is very much as a possibility if we wrongly stereotype them. However, if we do proper research on the marketed community, we can eliminate randomness error by making sure that the office spaces provide what the community believes to be improving a higher quality of

Then there’s the whole other race factor: Is concern over “income levels” and “demographic change” just gloss for an underlying assumption—that neighborhoods go south when white people move out and black people move in. If that isn’t enough to roil the revitalization waters, this emerging shift in neighborhood policy rings all kinds of alarm bells about gentrification and social engineering. Baltimore has avoided such prickly issues for the last decade with a community development approach under former Mayor Kurt Schmoke that favored the most decayed sectors in the city. Now, as Mayor Martin O’Malley’s administration begins formulating a new approach that gives greater consideration to neighborhoods that haven’t yet deteriorated those tricky issues threaten to surface. That has raised fears in some quarters of a polemical battle.…

There is a high demand to meet physician requests for “better inexpensive office space close to the hospital. " There are currently thirty offices that consist of 6,000 square feet each. This facility is not able to expand on to additional land. The sizes of these offices are rather large, so we would split them in half to about 3,000 square feet each. This would allow another thirty offices to physicians in the area to occupy, and could also decrease the costs for the physicians renting them out.…

Usha and Manoj, 1) I am currently actively pushing to move both suites at your property at 2090 Sugarloaf Parkway. a) Second Floor 1,250 SF suite: As far as the second floor space (1,250 SF) is concerned, I continue to receive and come across rather "random" inquiries and prospects, but none of them appear truly substantive or qualified. And these prospects simply do not exhibit overt professionalism. Although there has been various sorts of inquiries, as an example, a few days ago, I've received an inquiry from a prospect stating that he is just starting out a general contracting business (less than a year in operation) and says he is interested in a lease not more than 12 months. For an identical space like yours elsewhere, I would've have probably already leased it to a small professional, but reliable tenants such as a small CPA, single person operation attorney with an assistant or two, insurance agency that is reliable, psychologist who have been in practice for some time, etc, etc., etc.,, but many of the prospects that I have run to in this neighborhood (and continue to come across) are prospects in an "unproven" business and/or lacks any traceable history within one particular industry.…

These roadways are integral to commerce and transportation within today's ‘just in time’ culture. Just when minorities were gaining steam on their oppressed past, they were crushed once more; their communities and their spirits. The Impact of Gentrification on Urbanism __________________________________________________________________________________ Introduction Today, most urban development results in or is an influence of gentrification. As is claimed by Vicario and Martinez Monje, “Since the late 1970s, it has become increasingly apparent that the gentrification phenomenon should not be seen as an individual, isolated outcome of residential rehabilitation, but as an integral part of a much broader, deeper process of urban restructuring” (2003, p.2383).…
