Introduction
In the United States of America today, we are faced with questions about if our children are getting the best in knowledge. We worry about their social environment as well as their physical location. How much should a preschooler know and do? Andrew Mashburn, professor at the University …show more content…
Andrew Mashburn suggests that these 4 year olds who enter a preschool program go through all three simultaneously. When children enter into this program they become, with time and lessons, able to work with others which opens a channel of communication. This allows them to grow mentally and socially. According to Mashburn what children experience in a pre – kindergarten program can take on a major role in the remainder of their educational developments, breaking personal barriers in verbal techniques, maximizing how much knowledge they know & can retain, and finally molding socio-emotional capabilities that challenge the four year olds to be ready for school and allows them to be eager to learn. The topic I chose speaks on the quality of the social and physical environments in which the children learn. According to the journal, girls love a classroom setting and are able to grasp information relatively easier than the boys. Banduras theory places strict emphasize on how the children feel about themselves whereas in this study it was more about where they were and difference in curriculums. As a parent I want my child to exceed in any way possible even if that means placing him/her to a place that is easier to learn from based on his /her learning
