Reality television usually doesn’t focus on the positive but rather the negative behaviors to make the audience intrigued by the drama within the show. It promotes negative behaviors such as gossiping about friends, fighting, and drinking and sexual activities. Producers of these sorts of shows include negative behavior because it will create more of an engaging television. In many shows like Bad Girls Club or Jersey Shore cast members fight with each other there’s a disagreement instead of sitting down and talking it out. Reality television stars teach young adults that violence is the only way to solve their problems. Because reality stars may act irresponsibly to get more viewers, viewers should know it is not wise to get drunk and fight with someone in public nor is it okay attend events with little clothing on with expensive materialistic products that they may not afford. Reality television is great business bringing more money than some other genres of television shows as the years go on. The Kardashian family is a great example of gaining fortune from reality television, earning $10 million per season. Not all reality television shows promote negative attributes. Shows like American Idol or Americas Got Talent provide a place a wide range of people from young kids to older people to show the world their talent. These shows could become their stepping stone to a successful path in life. Most of the audiences feel as if these shows could be an inspiration for upcoming singers or entertainers. Celebrity rehab, Addicted, and Intervention shows are examples that educate the viewers and spread awareness. These shows follow people struggling with drug or alcohol abuse and how they overcome their addictions. The producers don’t try to make the show glamorous but rather show the real truth of
