My original definition for social responsibility was “the duty to be involved in your businesses community socially”. I believed that legality meant “using the preset laws and regulations set in order to guide one to making everyday decisions” (not limited just to the business world).Personally, if you ask me, I don’t think those are very bad definitions to come up with. However, they are far from being creditable definitions for each subject. Which is why we spent 14 weeks doing activities and assignments to help improve our understandings of these subjects at hand. I have been able to come up with more thought out definitions for these topics and I will reveal those towards the end. The activity that I performed was taking part in a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Walk at SIA in Lafayette in honor of my younger sister. I was able to raise about 30 dollars from a couple of friends and I donated 20 dollars personally to the cause along with participating in the walk on a Saturday morning. Participating in this project and event gave me a strong sense of philantraophic responsibility and feeling good for raising money for a cause that affects millions of people annually. I must also say that I enjoyed viewing other people’s projects along the way as well. As a class, I think we all did quite well on the projects and should all be proud of what we did for our respective communities. Now that I have discussed with you activities from the semester that tied into the subject material the most, I will now reveal what I currently think the meanings of business ethics and social responsibility
