It is called “The Great Escape” because it was not easy to obtain the freedom of Yeonmi’s family which they wanted for many years. They had to face many hindrances just to reach one goal –freedom.

Final Phase As soon as Yeonmi as she stepped on the Chinggis Khaan airport, she felt nervous because it’s the first plane she was ever going to ride on. For her boarding on the plane was a life changing experience, she said she felt like flying when she rode the plane and in the same time afraid. When the plane reached it’s destination, Yeonmi was fascinated at everything she was fascinated by the things around her. Wearing a shabby prison uniform, she wondered off in the airport like everything was the future. When she the saw an escalator, she thought that the floor was moving by tis self amd not only that she was also fascinated on lavatory facilities ,well not that she never seen one, it on how clean and shiny they are to her.
A few months later she and her mother found a job as a shop assistant and waitress; they earned enough money to let Yeonmi to back to school. She was doing great in all her classes; she was a student of criminal justice at Dongguk University, she was one of the city’s best and regular guest on South Korean TV shows. Yeonmi ws convinced that she has a right to draw attention to the women who risked their lives on sexual violence and murder as they tried to escaped from North Korea. She really convinced herself into doing this that she started to talk to herself like a crazy woman.
After many months of preparation, Yeonmi talked about her anger towards those Kim Jong- un and how he completely destroyed North Korea. She explained that Kim Jong-un doesn’t only oppress human lives, he also plays with them and lastly she said that he must be brought to justice. She hopes that one day she will return home to rebury her father’s ashes.
Yeonmi says that Kim Jong – un thinks he can stay forever king in North Korea, but nothing is forever.
III. Present Day
A. Activism and Reception As we know Yeonmi shared and written about her life in north korea, she volunteers for activist programs such as the Freedom Factory Corporation. She also became part with a nonprofit organization that keeps safes North Korean refugees, who are hiding in
