A student sifts through stacks of once enticing, but now monotonous mail. They all seem to have the same message, pleading with the student to consider attending their school. The letters outline details about certain features the school has that may make them stand out among the crowd. Most of the schools are ones that the student has never even heard of. The student, tired of looking through these boring letters, decides to go online and look at some of the colleges that caught their eye. A student and his parents sit across from each other at the dining room table. Laid out in front of them are papers detailing different college’s financial outlook. Finally, going on a college visit and actually seeing the school is another helpful option. All these options are helpful and should be considered.
A student’s choice of where to go to college will directly affect how the rest of their life plays out. Depending on where a student goes, they will meet different people, take different classes, and have different experiences. All of this molds the student’s future life. Because of this, choosing the correct college is of vital importance. When a student first thinks about choosing a college, they may think the decision making process will not be that laborious. However, once they have received hundreds of pieces of mail from different schools around the country, it can be difficult to taper down the choices. Even after a student has somewhat narrowed down their choices, they must now decide on the exact school they feel is the best fit for them. This can be a stressful process on the student, as it takes time, patience, and plenty of thinking to discover the right fit for them. This strenuous process will affect a large number of students throughout the world. It is not just the 4.0 students who go to college.
