Those who pay taxes are not going to want an increase for someone else’s education and students who go straight into a university are not going to see why their tuition should increase due to a free community college education. Some taxpayers may already be students and be oaky with this but I know many who aren’t would rather save their money or invest it in their own family’s education plan. Some may even go back to school from leaving a previous time due to a life incident or maybe even the expense of going, or some may see this as a bright opportunity to start an education that they never got due to money problems at the time. From a community college student’s point of view, I would love to see a law like this get passed, but I do understand that this could possibly hurt our economy with an increase in taxes and transfer and university rates. The community college also may have some hidden fees such as parking, books, or food to make a profit of some sort. So for my final thought on everything, I think this was a great idea by someone who really wanted education to go further and give a fair opportunity to attend college, but right now in our economy, many people can’t afford an increase on their taxes or in their tuition rates. The choice to go to college is a personal choice, not a right granted by
