were administrative officials that helped the king control the government and the military. Two

win many battles. Their responsibility to Rome is to control the battlefield and help protect the

Plebian tribunes were also another type of tribune. There are 5 plebeian tribunes in total.
They were the rich citizens. They had no role in the military but they could veto the senate and

They know they will probably be
beheaded or thrown into prison if they openly support what Marvillus and Flavius did. Their
actions show Pompey was actually more well-liked by the government than Caesar because they
didn’t do this to Pomepys statue but they did to Caesars (enotes.com).
Marvillus and Flavius actions were disrespectful in the eyes of Caesar. Caesar had them
beheaded for what they did (Shakespeare 77). This scared the people and they wondered if that
will happen to them. This also confused them because they don’t truly know if Caesar is good or
bad. He may have killed Pompey and executed Marvillus and Flavius, but he rejected the crown
to be the ruler of Rome. The people don’t know if he rejected it because he didn’t want to much
power or does he think the crown is too low for him and beneath his standard because he doesn’t
want only to be the leader of Rome he wants to be recognized as a god. We aren’t sure if Caesars
motives are right or wrong at this time because we have only seen him from one point of view.
