INTRODUCTION This contextual project work consists of 10 concepts from the module entitled “Advanced Health Assessment” Block 3. Each one of the concept will be described in terms of its meaning, critically analyzed for its real life application, and will be followed by some references of the current research evidence. Real life application will explore a possible relationship of the concept with personal, social or professional life.

It is my responsibility to health educate my clients and create awareness in them about the importance of visual acuity test in preventing vision damage. Presently it is being advocated in my establishment that eye screening exercise should come up once every year for members of staff, the community & clients in order to discover those with vision impairment and to give appropriate treatment. In my current job, visual acuity test is a routine test being carried out for every patient who attends the ophthalmology clinic before proceeding to see the ophthalmologist. The test is being carried out by the nursing staff and it is to know how far and well the patient can see. As a nurse, this test is carried out to know those patients with vision impairment. It is important to note that as a health care provider, my responsibility is to promote, prevent, restore health and alleviate suffering.
