Lord Heines…My dear Heines, what brings you here today? He said, lifting his right arm towards the young servant, who was responsible for serving the wine to the King and his female guests. The servant rushed to the King, with a robe made up of delicate but solid satin sheet, probably another gift from the Sultan.

Heines was his right hand, advisor and confident and he was also his cousin’s father in law.
Both men exited the baths, to walk up the wooden stairs that led to one of the King’s secret rooms. The King had in fact several locations in the castle which served as secret rooms or places where his he and his family could be hidden in case the Kingdom was besieged or again in case he needed an urgent meeting with the few people he could trust, and where he knew he could not be found.
They both entered one of the King’s secret room. It was a dark room, the slave girl that accompany them, rushed and lit a few candles to brighten the room and stood on a corner with a straight face, waiting for the King’s next

1066: The Year of the Conquest is a book by David Howarth trying to express the year 1066 through its battles. Specifically, the peace that the battles disrupted and the people involved such as the dukes, kings, earls, nobles, and the commoners. His goal is not to provide facts on what happened, his goal is to show his readers- whether they are scholars or those who enjoy history- the drama that unfolded that year, with as many reliable sources as possible. Howarth describes the year by referencing the “Bayeux tapestry, the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle, The Carmen, Hastingae Proelio, Gesta Guillielmi, the Domesday, De Gestis Regum Anglorum Vita Wulfstani, and Historia Ecclesiastica” (Howarth, sources page).…

Famished, he immediately sat and took his first bites when a knock came upon his door and reluctantly got up to open the door, only to find Balthazar, who he invited him in, asking if he would care to join him for dinner, but he replied that he had already eaten, however, he would gladly share a pint while Mangus ate and they talked. He poured Balthazar a pint and both sat while Mangus continued eating, as Balthazar explained that Parsis had taken notice of the recent activity surrounding the manor and the town of Banniff and anticipated that they would…
