Personal Narrative: A Changed Girl

Improved Essays
Dazed and confused I wandered out the car a changed girl forever... Now most people don’t really flip cars in their lifetime. It really is a rare thing almost like pandas. Waking up that morning I did not intend to flip a car but that is exactly what I did. It was a regular school day. I only had two classes at school so I always came late and left early. On this particular day I had a waxing appointment about thirty minutes after I go out of school. I was headed out the school doors ready to get the first waxing ever in my life. My boyfriend at the time, Kace, also got out school early, but had one class left when I was leaving. He insisted on coming with me so I let him come. We had a lot of time to kill before my appointment we decided …show more content…
Now I am not talking about a calm yell, but a loud and shaking yell. He had yelled my name because the wheel had started to barely graze the white line. That was something I always did when driving and was very well aware of. However, when he yelled it startled me and put my mind back to when he was swerving the car, and I swerved the car all the way into the other lane. I felt my neck yanking as the car swerved. I tried to gain control, but the car was much stronger than me. The shock and adrenaline running through my body was too much. I then swerved back into my lane, however I still had no control of the car. I felt the tires grazing the ground. By the time my foot was hitting the brakes, we were already back into the other lane. Everything happened so fast yet so slowly at the same time. I was so scared I didn’t even realize what was going on until the car completely stopped.
I awoke to the smell of burnt rubber. As I opened my eyes, I realized that I was upside down. The scene was horrifying. There was glass everywhere. I couldn’t find my phone, and I tasted blood, lots of blood. I rose my hand to my mouth, and cringed at the sight of the many cuts on my hands. As I looked around terrified, I thought to myself, “how did this happen?”. After coming back down to Earth, I realized that Kace was still with me. I called his name twice and he didn’t answer. I almost cried, but then he said, “what the hell Tandi!”. I was

Have you ever stopped caring so much that whatever happens, happens? I remember the time I had gotten in trouble by my mom because I had walked home from school. I didn’t like it, but then again I started not to care either.…

Everyone knows the YMCA song, but everyone doesn’t have the same connection to it that I do. This building never contained one life changing event for me, but it has been a pivotal place in my life. A place I’ve referred to as home many times, the YMCA has shaped who I am as a man. This pivotal spot is where I suffered my first traumatic injury, changing how I do things for the rest of my life; but also was the place I went to when coping with family incidents. This institution, in particular the basketball gym, helped me find myself, changing my life forever.…

My boyfriend of three years broke up with me; my heart was shattered like a mirror on the ground, cracked and pieces missing. I never thought that this would affect me so much. I couldn’t let everyone see how upset I was, so I hid my emotions behind a fake smile that no one ever knew existed. That is where all my problems started; something started to grow inside of me like an embryo of a new unborn child. Slowly but surely I sank into a dark abyss of depression.…

Change is seen differently by different people. Some accept it while others deny it, depending on their values and mentality. This is seen in many places in today’s world, like political models, society’s values, and debates on environment based on science. Similar to almost everyone, life presented me with a chance of change when I was fairly young, end of 4th grade to be exact. I was asked by my parents to switch schools from a local medium to international medium of studies in India.…

I believe that every event in your life happens for a reason. Whether the outcome of the event is good or bad it teaches us a lesson. Jeannette Walls, one of my many favorite authors, states, "Sometimes something catastrophic can occur in a split second that changes a person's life forever; other times one minor incident can lead to another and then another and another, eventually setting off just as big a change in a body's life.” Like author Walls says, there can be one major incident or one minor, but both can impact one’s life drastically. My event was major and it was what marked my transition from childhood to adulthood.…

Almost everyone will meet, or has met someone in college that has significantly changed their lives. For me, it didn't take long at all for me to meet that person. I met her on our second day of college of our first semester, basically my second day of my entire college career. I didn't realize it right away, but over time I noticed that she was really changing my life. I would have never met this person in high school because first of all she lives in a different town, but even if we did live in the same town, or even went to the same high school, I still would have never known her because I didn't really branch out and make a lot of friends back then.…
