There have been many elements that I have learned through the Harlingen High School basketball program, which may be transferred to any situation in life, as the basketball program has allowed me to determine the type of person I am. This was due to the fact that I was placed in many challenging situations, which fatigued me both mentally and physically, to a point which I chose how willing I was to overcome those obstacles. Organized basketball has been a part of my life beginning at age six, and has not left my side since. I have loved the game itself, and the actual competitiveness that is apart of it. Competitiveness is the overall intention for the game of basketball and would not and could not be enjoyed without such an element as it.…

The NBA playoffs are where heroes become legends, and through their play legends become basketball gods. The NBA playoffs are filled with so many great moments that people still talk about today. Just think about Reggie Miller breaking the hearts of an entire city in the 1990s, or the constant excellence that are the San Antonio Spurs, who in my opinion are the best run franchise in the last 20 years, or the decorated excellence the Lakers had in the league behind the heroics of Kobe Bryant, and the huge shoulders of Shaquille O’Neal. For me, my favorite playoff moment happened in 2007 when LeBron James scored 29 of the Cavilers last 30 points against the Pistons. This year the push to the playoffs isn’t that much different from years before.…
