Into the woods
Into the Woods is a musical Broadway production that balances various well known fairy tales with an original story of a childless baker and his wife that wishes to have a child soon, Cinderella, Jake in the Beanstalk, Little Red Riding Hood, and Rapunzel. They all wish for something but what they don’t understand is that some wishes might not really be what they want in the long run.
With this production everyone wishes for something; for example, the baker and his wife wants a child, Cinderella wants to go to the festival, Rapunzel wants a prince, Little Red Riding Hood wants to go to granny’s, and Jack doesn’t want to sell his treasured pet cow for money. They all make a trip to the woods to make their wishes come true. When they all get their wishes they are certainly not satisfied and want more. These wishes turn out to upset them in the future.

Many stories’ end with happy ending this production gives a look into both sides happy and sad ending. The baker’s wife dies, Cinderella and the prince slip up, Jacks mother dies, Rapunzel goes crazy, the witch has no powers, and Little Red Riding Hoods granny dies. Lots of people die in the woods during act two of this production. The woods are a dangerous place. The theme is getting what you wished, but not realizing mistakes in what you wished for.
My favorite character in this production is the witch, because she’s crazy, spontaneous, and funny. The witch stated, “You 're so nice. You 're not good; you 're not bad; you 're just nice.” Characters I didn’t like were the prince and the baker’s wife, because they cheated on their spouses and no one likes cheaters. The baker’s wife told the prince, “We can 't do this, you have a princess and I have a... a baker.” The director did a very good job of handling all the material it all blinded well in the
