Most of the colonist just wanted that representation which they seemed to lack. They knew that England would never stop taxing them, so the only choice they seemed to have was to separate from the country totally. It was fundamental in the sense that they were separating themselves from their country and they believed in fewer to no taxes and much less government control. So the question remains; Was the war necessary and was the outcome of the war worth the losses that were created. Let’s take a moment to reflect on why the revolutionary war was a necessity for America and why I feel that the colonist/Americans had no other choice, but to fight the war. (Hager,
