Film Production is one of the great American achievements. The industry has grown and increased up to this day. The Process of Film Making isn’t too easy. What are the essential steps involved in film production today?
Film Production includes all aspects of the production itself. Pre Production includes finding and creating a crew. Once you have all the key crewmembers you begin to really step into the movie. A Casting director finds actors and actresses that fit the role of characters, the final decision is usually up to the director though. Finding a location is part of Pre Production as well; depending on your budget. Some big film productions have location scouts. (“A Professional Approach to Screenwriting & Filmmaking”) There are several different options for locations, whether it’s a studio based, fixed film location production, or an outside broadcast. Shot list and script breakdowns are normally essentials parts of pre- production as well. A shot list is a list of all the shots, framing, filming directions, other things to keep in mind, sort of like a cheat sheet for filming. Script breakdown is just a list of everything you will need props, effects, and locations, and everything else. Surprisingly a lot of research goes into making a movie. Set deign, costumes, all facts and locations need to be researched and planned out. (Sardar, Ziauddin, 268) Tech Scotts are usually helpful doing such work as scooting the locations out, awearing the director of any possible issues that many come up such as background noise, lighting for the camera, anything of those odds. Scheduling shots comes before production. Sometimes a person called 1ads is hired to work the daily schedule of filming. Production design arranges all aspects that need to be set up in locations, then the next step, Production! Production begins with setting up and principle photography, focal lengths, camera placement and movement, lighting, and much more. Then rehearsal is next! Almost done with production, directors check all the takes and make sure it’s the outcome you want. This is a time where directors decide what works and what doesn’t; either changing or cutting
