Why Do People Become Dependent On Technology?

Technology has benefited society over the years. It has exponentially in the business side of things. It has led to real time marketing, improved customer service, and online ordering. Technology has made advancements in electronic banking, investing, manufacturing, military, and social aspects. With all of the technological advancements happening around us I have found that this current generation isn’t happy and have become dependent on technology. With recent technology it is easier and faster than ever to stay in touch with people around the world. However people seem to be upset when their IPhones, or fancy smart phones process information too slow. I find it beyond ridiculous that people become irate when it takes more than 2 seconds …show more content…
Of that 90% about 15% of those adults are young adults ages 18-26 that have become completely dependent on their cell phone. 62% of adult smart phone users have looked up information about a health condition. 57% have used their device for online banking, and 43% use their device to look up real estate listing in the area that they reside in. These same people also look up government services, 40% use it to look up government services, 30% uses it to take an online class or get educated. A final 18% use it to turn in a job application. I understand that these percentages overlap but it is still a fascinating statistic. People have just become so dependent on their phones its almost sickening.
Technology has also improved marketing, and helped businesses increase sales. However it tends to cut out the middle man, and people again also get upset when their package takes more that 5 days to arrive at their door. If you get an order online it takes time to process, assemble, package, and ship the order. In this day and age it is unbelievable on how fast some company’s deal with orders and customer service now. This allows cell phone companies to be able to mass market their new phones each
