Impact Of Technology On The Environment

Great Essays
Technology makes our lives easier but hurts the environment. When innovators create technology, many people use these products, which negatively impacts society. When people use more electricity than they need to, the vast amount of electricity being used affects the pollution and the environment, like when a computer is on for too long, it can burn out or slow down, which is expensive to fix. Old technologies have been hurting the environment. We use so much technology; it has negatively impacted the quality of water and air. Also, we use so much technology that has impacted climate change. However, there have been some shifts in technological innovations towards creating eco-friendly technology that will help the environment. Instead of wasting …show more content…
Conversely, the man-made electricity affected the environment and caused more damage towards global warming. For example, all the pollution from the technology causes the oceans to rise, which in turn can cause cities to be underwater. Once people started using solar panels, scientists saw that this could decrease the climate change and decrease the damages of the environment. On the other hand, people still use non-eco-friendly technology, which could ruin the environment. If people use eco-friendly technology like solar panels, it will help the environment and be economically cheaper. Since there is a problem with global warming and people are trying to find a way to prevent global warming to continue. Solar panels allow us to reuse resources like the sun to conduct electricity instead of wasting carbon dioxide or coal. In the article, Benefits of Renewable Energy Use, the author states:
“Human activity is overloading our atmosphere with carbon dioxide and other global warming emissions, which trap heat, steadily drive up the planet’s temperature, and create significant and harmful impacts on our health, our environment, and our climate.” (Union of Concerned

The less resources we waste, the less pollution we get. For example, if we use less coal or natural gas, the environment will not negatively impact our health. Since solar panel reuses energy from the sun, there has been less pollution in water or in air. While the sun is giving energy than coal or natural gas, the water is not affect from pollution, which means that the agriculture or drinking water is not affected. Electricity from natural gas or coal depends on the water resources so if there is a drought or heat wave, then electricity will be at risk. On the other hand, electricity is being reused and is from the sun so they do not depend on water as much. Solar panels can be located anywhere to get access to electricity. Once people have started using solar panels, the numbers from the statistics of pollution has decreased. However, people still use natural gas or coal to conduct electricity. Solar panels help the environment to prevent pollutions, which positively impacted the

Most people do not think about the damage they are doing to the Earth of if they do they think it is a problem for the future and not for now, which is untrue. Humans’ lifestyles should be altered to prevent further damage to Earth’s environment by reducing the demand for energy, recycling, and using less air conditioning and heat, these acts will reduce global warming. If the human race would cut down on energy usage, it would slow down global warming 's damages. In “Climate Change Science-…

Fossil fuels (oil, gas, and coal) have been the pillar of our modern society since the Industrial Revolution. There is no further doubt that fossil fuels have a high density of energy and they are the world’s dominant energy source. Even though these non-renewable resources have a variety of applications like fuel for transportation, electricity, plastic, medicine, and chemicals, they are also the largest emitters of carbon dioxide which causes human health and environmental issues. Every economic aspect the United States depends completely on these fossil fuels. An effective way to address the United States’ fossil fuel dependency is by relying on renewable sources of energy, learning how to conserve energy, recycling and reusing products…

Unlike fossil fuels, it is renewable and does not emit carbon dioxide. According to the Solar Energy Industries Association, the United States has an abundant supply of solar energy resources, such as solar pannels, boilers, and furneses. Enough that it can supply the nations energy needs several times over. The solar industry is currently working to scale up the production or solar technology and decrease the manufacturing costs. Because the majority of carbon emission is due to fossil fuels, solar energy has the potential to mitigate the effects of climate change.…

There are many effects of climate change that have been documented from the latter part of the twentieth century until now. This significant change is due to the introduction of industrialization in society and how it has changed the equilibrium of the atmosphere by drastically increasing levels of CO2, a gas emitted from burning fossil fuels. We depend on fossil fuels for electricity and transportation.…

While they have gotten faster, safer, and more efficient, there have not been any major changes in the technology used since the first cars were brought to market in the early 1900s. They still use an internal combustion engine, use gasoline as fuel, emit exhaust that harms the environment, require fueling up at gas stations, need oil changes, and have many moving parts, making it more likely something breaks and needs repaired. It is time to revolutionize the automotive industry and fix all of these problems and more. There is one type of car that can do that: electric cars.…
