The topic I was given was “Teaching Styles”. This topic is very important when teaching a Physical Education class. This Topic is both Student and Teacher Centered. Both Teacher/Student centered can be a direct, indirect, and interactive type of teaching style. It is up to the instructor to decide how he/she can perform these tasks. These teaching styles are used for students who might need any modifications to their teaching because not every student learns the same exact way. Also, you want your activity to always fit with any range of age groups you will be teaching. This will help student’s psychomotor skills by getting into groups and becoming socially active. Forming groups and teaching each other will also make the student think for themselves and help each other. The instructor gives out feedback to the performer helping him accomplish the task.
The last to styles are very similar. Guided Discovery and Divergent style leads students to figure out the answer to a solution. The only difference is that Guided Discovery only has one single solution to the problem, rather than divergent having multiple solutions. The instructor is to not give out any answers to the problem. There will only be questions asked to the students that will lead them up to the solution of the problem. Each style can be modified so that you can control the environment of the students as well as yourself. If students are having a hard time with a “boring” direct teaching style, then try out something new that 's more indirect and interactive. Motivation in a Physical Education environment is the most important thing we look at P.E. teachers. Our goal is to make students become physically literate students in and out of the classroom and the way you do so is by making each student feel comfortable in their class environment as well as in their learning skills. This will intrinsically motivate students to perform at their best in all aspects of
