Are self-employed workers more motivated than salaried employees? Explain your answer using theory and evidence.

Problem Statement:

The modern employment system can be divided thoroughly into various types but widely into two. Self employed worker and employees are defined by the UK government as a person who take their responsibilities of their own business, does not get paid through PAYE (Pay As You Earn tax system) and a person who works under employment contract, along with abide by employment law and tax law, respectively. Due to distinguishable distinction of tasks approach and independence it sometime leads to a controversial topic about motivation in working in comparison of self-employer and wage earner such as which kind of career is able to be stimulated the most?

Since two types of worker hold distinct level of commitment. Individuals in entrepreneurial job firmly score higher than another resulting from two major reasons. First, self-employers are characterised by achievement-related trait. Every single successful and worthwhile tasks enlarges personal self-confidence and builds it up to self-determination. Second, their job content are highly motivational because it involve baring risks and responsibility. Assignments are straightforwardly related with personal career position and reward (specially, financial reward). To illustrate, a person who performs well and provide pleased tasks to a patron experiences more capacity in bargaining conditions for the next tasks.
