The Iliad chapters 3-4 summaries
The Trojans marched from the city gates and went to meet the Achaeans. Paris, the Trojan prince, started the war by stealing the beautiful, Helen, away from her husband, Menelaus, who challenges the Achaeans to do a one-on-one combat between either of the Achaeans. When Menelaus steps up, however, Paris loses and goes back to the Trojans. The leader of the Trojan forces, Hector. And Paris’s brother, scolds Paris for being such a coward.Hector’s insult cuts deep into him, and he finally accepts to have a duel with Menelaus. Agamemnon: He is the king of Achaean army and the brother of Sparta. Agamemnon is a self-centered and offensive leader. Agamemnon rejects Apollo’s present and that's why there is a lot of Greeks dying. Also, Agamemnon does not want to give Chryseis Daughter back without a prize.
Patroclus: Patroclus is Achilles best friend. Patroclus cares about Achilles and what he does. Patroclus is also the adviser of Achilles.
Odysseus: Odysseus is a noble warrior and intelligent hero. Odysseus is also one of the two best public speakers in the Achaean army.
Diomedes: The youngest in the Achaean army. After Achilles gives up on doing the combat, Athena convinces Diomedes, and he injures two …show more content…
Thetis: The sea goddess and the mother of Achilles. Thetis helps her son help the Trojan army and defeat the Achaean army.
Athena: Athena vehemently hates the Trojan army.
Hephaestus: The god of fire and the husband of Aphrodite.

Artemis: The Goddess of the hunt and the daughter of Zeus.Also, Artemis is the twin sister of Apollo.

Hera: The mother of Apollo and the wife of Zeus. Hera is the queen of gods. Sometimes when Hera is mad at her husband, she would go behind his back and help defeat the Trojans with her daughter.
Chryses: Chryses is a priest of Apollo, and he is the father of Chryseis.
Chryseis: The daughter of Chryses and the war prize for Agamemnon.
Briseis: When Agamemnon is forced to return Chryseis he decides to take Briseis as a replacement of Chryseis.
Hermes: The messenger of all the gods.
Dolan: One of the Trojans that was sent to spy on the Achaeans.
Antenor: Antenor is a Trojan noble man.
