The song has a line from Kanye West that states “314 soldiers died in Iraq, 509 died in Chicago”. Kanye West gave a very disturbing statistic. This statistic proves that Chicago has turned into a war zone for the black community. The song has another line earlier that states “Is it genocide?” because Kanye West believes this is the masterplan of racist America. Another powerful line that shows the sad life expectancy of black men is stated by Jay-Z, “They say by 21 I was supposed to die”. The life expectancy is 21 for black men, and Jay-Z feels grateful to see past 21, but at the same time he is sad because his people are only expected to live until 21. Overall this song shows that these two artists are feed up with the black community pulling each other down with black on black violence because deep down they know this is systematical racist genocide.
