Since the internship can be hands-on programing, years of previous experience in programing may be required to qualify (Study.com). Many companies looking for a reliable programmer require a bare minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science. With a computer science degree the student can get a great range of knowledge of general computer hardware and software while also gaining valuable knowledge of numerous programing languages. According to Academic Ranking of World Universities, in 2013 the number one university for computer science was Stanford University located in San Francisco, Ca. Of course just getting into Stanford is an incredible academic accomplishment on its own. The lower amount is mainly for entry-level programmers in the fields of website development, software development and database programming. These are your basic “foot in the door” jobs and are easily obtainable by inexperienced programmers. The real money comes with experience. Experience and specialized training in advanced programming languages can gain you employment as a software engineer.
