Over the past few years’ social work has made an impact on large numbers of individuals through to its services for communities, families, children, elderly people and those with physical or mental health problems. This has provoked much criticism. Its effectiveness is questioned and there are increasing demands for this to be demonstrated. However they are used in many different ways, depending on the need of the client and the practice context (Healy, 2011). For example in relation to the case study the primary method was put into place as a systematic and planned way of performing the task. A framework for supporting good practice needs to take account of ethical principles and ensure effective induction, supervision, workload management and continuing professional development (International Federation of Social Workers, 2012).
