When defining social construction, I believe that it is defined as the way we look at the world as a society and how we each develop our own interpretations on how we view each other. The article really does bring up a very good point in that, every society questions how to dispense power, opportunities, wealth and resources (Rothenburg1). The way my mind thinks about gender is that I immediately think male or female. Nevertheless gender could also be described as masculine or feminine. To explain why gendering is done from birth, constantly and by everyone, we have to look not only at the way individuals experience gender but are gender as a social institution (Lorber 55). In other words social institutions are what make people organize their lives. Masculinity and femininity are so publicized within are society that many children and teens or even adults try and achieve things that are impossible. For instance all the videos and discussions we had in class about how barbie and GI Joe dolls give young children insecurities that they could have today. However, gender roles are changing, today fathers are taking care of little children and women are becoming CEOs. The way you could look at social class is in the form of a pyramid. With the I idea if you were at the top of the pyramid you would have a lot of mount and necessarily didn 't have to do much. While the bottom of the pyramid you would work for minimum wage along with you could also be unemployed. For example, educational polices to prevent young people from dropping or of school, especially the few good ones in poor areas, have nothing to do with housing policies for dealing with various kinds of homelessness and the lack of affordable (Gans 107). With all of this going on with class there are two different type of inequality’s could come from the social classes. One of them being temporary inequality, like the relationship between a child and a parent. With that the child can acquire new traits and or knowledge that they can develop. Which should be a bad thing because that is how social norms can develop and stay around. Due to the fact that they develop those same social class beliefs like their parents, which makes this bad cycle keep going around. While the second inequality being permeant inequality, which is the unequal by the way you were born. This could be the notion that the unequal relationship will end inequality. Inequality is only good for people in a relationship because it makes both people healthier and happier. The underclass and the upperclass will always be far apart whether you give the
