The way my mind thinks about gender is that I immediately think male or female. Nevertheless gender could also be described as masculine or feminine. To explain why gendering is done from birth, constantly and by everyone, we have to look not only at the way individuals experience gender but are gender as a social institution (Lorber 55). In other words social institutions are what make people organize their lives. Masculinity and femininity are so publicized within are society that many children and teens or even adults try and achieve things that are impossible. For instance all the videos and discussions we had in class about how barbie and GI Joe dolls give young children insecurities that they could have today. The way you could look at social class is in the form of a pyramid. With the I idea if you were at the top of the pyramid you would have a lot of mount and necessarily didn 't have to do much. While the bottom of the pyramid you would work for minimum wage along with you could also be unemployed.
